Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao, better known as Camila Cabello, was born on March 3, 1997, in Coj mar, Havana, Cuba. She is an American-Cuban actress, singer, and songwriter, and her name is pronounced as "ca-meela ca-beyo". Cabello gained fame as a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, where she established herself as a solo artist. She released collaborations with Shawn Mendes and Machine Gun Kelly, with the latter reaching number four on the US Billboard Hot 100. Cabello left the group in 2016 and released her debut solo single "Crying in the Club". In 2018, Cabello's debut studio album, Camila, reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart and received a platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Her lead single "Havana" topped the charts in many countries, including the US and UK, followed by "Never Be the Same" reaching the top ten in many countries. She gained American citizenship in 2008 and attended Miami Palmetto High School but left in the 2012-2013 school year to pursue her singing career.
